You and your generosity help keep The Safe Place alive along with the laughter and
joy the children experience as they attend TSP's programs. One of the children's
mothers once stated that programs like TSP might help keep the children alive
by giving them such a loving place to flourish.
On behalf of the children and their families, thank you immensely for your
involvement, and for making your caring and impact count.
The Stranahan Foundation
The Stranahan Foundation championed TSP to truly fulfill the initial dream of helping children affected/infected with HIV/AIDS. In 1998, Stranahan's Board of Directors gave their first grant to TSP, and continued to show their support with a grant in 1999, and another in 2000. The impact of their belief in TSP is deeply felt by all of the families that TSP serves, the schools these children attend, and the Board of Directors of TSP. The crowning gift by the Stranahan Foundation came in February 2001 when their Board voted to fund TSP to hire a firm to handle continued fund raising efforts. TSP's appreciation of Mark Stranahan and the Stranahan Foundation is boundless. It was a great honor to have many of their Board of Directors visit TSP's South Central Los Angeles site in 2000. That the Stranahan board traveled all the way from Toledo, Ohio illustrates just how
dedicated the Stranahan Foundation is.
Strabala, Ramirez and Association and Paul Strabala
Paul Strabala and Senior Associates have generously gifted TSP with yearly tax audits. These audits are critical to the future financial success and viability of any nonprofit organization. They allow compliance with all necessary checks and balances in order to obtain future funding and to insure the financial well-being of the organization. TSP is deeply grateful to Mr. Strabala for his unending support.
Federated Department Stores and Bloomingdale's
Federated Department Stores and Bloomingdale's have long supported TSP. In addition to hosting a fund raising event in the form of a high profile, celebrity fashion show to benefit TSP, the Federated Dept Stores Foundation has shown their belief in TSP by giving grants to the organization for the past three years. Bloomingdale's Beverly Center in Los Angeles frequently contacts TSP for inclusion in upcoming fund-raising events.
Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS Los Angeles
The Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) is an ardent contributor to TSP. During TSP's early years, DIFFA LA came through with three grants. If not for DIFFA Los Angeles and Joy Miller and their loving support, TSP would not be where it is today.
Andre Sobel River of Life Foundation
TSP is deeply gratified to Valerie and Erwin Sobel, founders of The Andre Sobel River of Life. Early in TSP's development, the Sobel's and their Foundation granted TSP their first sizable donation, demonstrating to other potential donors that TSP was a worth cause.
Giorgio Armani and Emporio Armani Beverly Hills
In March of 1995, Giorgio Armani and his Emporio Armani demonstrated their support
for TSP's children and their families by hosting and fund-raising fashion show. In
addition to the several thousand dollars raised, the event brought a great deal of
attention to the issue of pediatric AIDS, and to TSP, due to many stars of film and television volunteering their support.
The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandizing and Toni Hohberg
In July on 1994, Toni Hohberg and The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandizing gave TSP their first boost of visibility in the Los Angeles area by hosting a kick-off event. Five caterers donated food, and expenses were underwritten through private donations. Nearly three hundred people turned out to welcome TSP and to join them in
the co-creation of their mission.
Diva's Simply Singing and Sheryl Lee Ralph
From 1995 through 2000, Sheryl Lee Ralph included TSP along with Project Angel Food to receive a portion of the proceeds from "Divas Simply Singing." Each year TSP received a most generous grant. TSP is immensely thankful to Ms. Ralph for her selfless commitment to fighting the AIDS pandemic and for
benefiting TSP, its children and their families.
The Bruce McGraw Foundation
The Bruce McGraw Foundation has generously given a total of three grants.
Brainstorms Advertising
Thanks to Brainstorms Advertising in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for creating TSP's
logo and design work. Whenever TSP has needed help and guidance with an image,
Brainstorms has been there to support their efforts, and has always done so completely free of charge. Thanks to Frank Ferraro, June Zinn, Nicky Ravine, Chris Pelikan
and the entire brilliant creative team at Brainstorms.
Keith Bright Jr. and Donahue Printing
Mr. Keith Bright Jr. of the Donahue Printing of Los Angeles have supplied TSP
with printed collateral materials on two occasions. Their generosity and
community involvement are exemplary.
You the individual
If not for you, the individual donor, TSP would not exist and would never have become
a reality. On behalf of the children and their families, TSP thanks you for so generously giving to those who have such a difficult challenge, and helping to bring new hope and joy
into their lives and the lives of those around them.
